Morpeth Town vs Newcastle Benfield

Morpeth Town v Newcastle Benfield 2/909

Due to league rules requiring certain standards for grounds and Morpeth not being able to full fill these requirements this nights game was played at the ground of Bedlington Terriers.

The game started with five or six floodlights not working but the referee thought it was alright to start and Morpeth must have wished they had not started as Newcastle Benfield bossed the game from the first minute until halftime. During this first half in the thirty-third minute a great ball in from

Paul Buzzeo saw Michael Chilton come in at the near post to put the visitors one up and a second followed in the forty-fifth minute when a poor back-pass was seized on by Steven Young who ran forward dribbled past a defender and shot past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 at halftime. After a long consideration and having the lights turned off to cool down and switched them back on but this time nine lights were off and the referee decided to abandon the match.

So at some time yet to be decided Morpeth will yet again have to face Newcastle Benfield.
